Today's theme is Bando Kobe Science Museum.

The Bando Kobe  Science Museum is located in Port Island in Kobe's Chuo Ward, and is my family's favorite science museum, where you can see the planetarium! Many families like us visit, and it's just a short walk from the Port Liner Minami Koen Station, and there's a paid parking lot nearby, so it's convenient for cars. You can have a great time here on your days off, but you can also wander around the nearby IKEA and eat at the cafeteria-style restaurant inside, making it a great place to spend the whole day.

The planetarium (dome theater) costs 600 yen for adults plus an additional 400 yen, but children are half price, so a family of three can spend a good time here for just 2,500 yen (as of July 26, 2025). This is a great value experience, as it allows you to experience an extraordinary space! My family likes Bando in general, but we also love the Town Exploration Table, where visitors' avatars can look down on the city of Kobe from the sky. This is a facility that can be enjoyed not only by small children but also by parents.

If you've been to IKEA, you know that it's so big and you have to walk around! And the furniture is arranged to resemble actual rooms, so it's really fun. You'll want to buy the whole room that's on display... I didn't actually buy anything, but it's amazing how they sell things in a way that makes you want them right then and there. As for the main subject, the food is cheap and delicious, with basic curry rice for 390 yen and hot dogs for 100 yen, depending on the item. The photo shows a fair that is held depending on the season, and at that time, crayfish? was the most popular item.

Even though the title is Bando Kobe Science Museum, I apologize for the distraction from the conversation in the second half, which turned to a meal at IKEA.

I promised to go to Bando with my family when I go back to Takarazuka, so we're going to IKEA for a meal too!
